Practical tips on avoiding burnout or isolation for people working from home
My personal experience in avoiding burnout and isolation while working from home is to keep myself stay centered and be creative. What I have been doing to accomplish the goals including the followings:
1. Stick on the structural daily schedule. Follow as much as possible the work I have scheduled. For example, I like to do my writing and the paperwork in the morning hours. I have my meals at a regular time.
2. Keep exercising. For me, physical exercise not only does keep my health but part of my life. On top of my daily home base body stretching, I also group with my friends doing high-intensity interval training workouts online. By doing so, I benefit from staying connected with people and being energetic as well as attune to my body which is crucial to generate my creativity.
3. Increase self-care activities. Make better use of the time earned by the reduction of transportation to care for ourselves such as enjoying a post workouts hot water bath plus facial massage. To be honest, this is truly one of my most favorite activities which help to keep my mind refreshing and allows me to be within myself.
4. Restrict frequency and time length on checking cell phone. Tons of news about coronavirus coming around. It's almost impossible to prevent various emotions like anxiety, fear from being spread following the news. It's overly too much and no one can absorb or digest them shortly. So restriction of checking on electronic devices is a must to do. Personally, I would say every day 3 to 4 times and each time not more than 20 minutes on viewing or involving is enough. We do need to be updated but we do not deserve to be overwhelmed.
I hope my sharing not only specifically against this critical moment, but also be good for your future life.
